Festival Season is created by a rag-tag band of comics connoisseurs, empaneled pontificators, and sequential swooners. Looking to join our ranks? You’ve come to the right page.
This site currently has no revenue and everyone involved volunteers his or her efforts for the glory of the self-publishing community. It’s not that we don’t think you deserve to be paid for your time and talent. You definitely do. We just want to make something we can’t actually afford. You should probably stop getting involved with people like us.
But let’s face it: You’re not going to. So:
Care to Join Us?
Writers
If you’d like to write for Festival Season, you can send your pitch (what you’d like to focus on) and some writing samples to kenan at festivalseason dot org.
Our editors already have their hands full so please don’t take it personally if we don’t opt to bring you on board just now (or if you don’t hear from us for a while). We are growing this operation at a very deliberate pace because we are quality-over-quantity people.
If you just want to do a guest post, you can send us that, too; we’d love to read it. We publish a very specific kind of piece here (see our review philosophy), and we’re particular. If we choose not to publish your article, it doesn’t mean we didn’t like it. Honestly. We’re just keeping our focus narrow.
Also, be advised: if we do opt to publish your article, we are hands-on editors.
Designers and (Especially) Developers
We also have big plans for the future of this site. Plans that require a larger development team than we currently have. So holler if you’d like to help out.
Again, we’re all-volunteer, building this site for its own sake, fueled by sheer excitement and insomnia. And again, you deserve better compensation than the satisfaction of a job well-done. We’re sorry we can’t offer it. We recommend you go find some folk who want to give you their money instead.
Artists, Angel Investors, and True Believers
Something else you want to discuss? Plans, schemes, wild imaginings? Speak to us.
If you’re just looking to submit a comic for review or add an event to our calendar, that’s helpful, too.
